Gas-grade polyethylene pipe is a PE pipe type produced from PE100 materials and can provide high chemical resistance, high tensile and pressure performance, long service life, low weight with easy installation, and cost-effective project delivery.

Oil & Gas
Polyethylene pipe is an ideal solution for oil and gas gathering applications thanks to leak-free joints, durability, cost efficiency, light weight, and resistance to hydrocarbon permeation.
It requires no protective coating, resists chemical attack and corrosion without constant maintenance, and significantly reduces leakage risk. The smooth internal bore also helps reduce deposition buildup over time.
- Strong, leak-free, and flexible joints.
- Resistance to decay, abrasion, and impact.
- Very suitable hydraulic performance.
- Resistance to electrolytic corrosion.
- Seismic resistance.
- Low repair and maintenance costs.
- Resistance to UV sunlight exposure.
- Resistance to temperature fluctuations.
One of the major applications of polyethylene pipe is oil and gas transfer. Gas-grade PE pipe is produced in PE100 and PE80 grades, at 12.5 and 16 bar classes, and in 25, 63, 90, 110, 125, 160, 200, and 225 mm sizes. In general, due to application sensitivity, oil and gas PE pipes must comply with required standards and receive approvals from relevant national oil and gas authorities.
Polyethylene pipes are used in oil and gas transfer lines due to high hydrocarbon resistance and anti-leak behavior. Relevant tests include:
- Hydrocarbon resistance test:
Evaluates resistance against oil, gas, and hydrocarbon media. Pipes should not show structural degradation or failure on contact. - Leakage test:
Conducted under different high-pressure conditions to verify leak-tight performance. - Temperature and pressure resistance test:
Confirms pipe stability under elevated temperature and varied pressure conditions typical of oil and gas transfer lines.
